Re-entry!

After taking a month off from work and from everyday life, (something I have never done before), it has taken a while to get in sync with the world temporarily left behind.  First, I had to get home, then I had to retrieve my dogs from their Colorado vacation stay at the dog ranch and slowly get back into the swing of things.

Really had a lot of fun rolling over fields of rocks (not shown in this photo!) like they weren't even there.

Let's just say, for the first week I was road biking on my mountain bike, mountain biking on my fat bike and occasionally waking up not completely sure where I was.  Sorta like feeling I was only half here and half somewhere else.

Ok, it's symbolic ... and also kinda cool.  This sliver of car is really a park bench.
Today, I finally got it together - road bike - road ride!

Pulled off Albuquerque's paved bike path by the memorial.  Not a "ghost bike" but paying respect to the folks who created the network of bike trails through the city.
The thing is, time away, time without a television, time without the internet and time with new friends left me with new found thoughts and ideas about a whole range of issues.  Nothing so profound that it needs to be shared, just clarity about this and that.  Back in the real world, the clarity remains but runs headlong into day to day life and how to move forward in the face of a slightly different view of the world I happen to inhabit.

Just a cool sculpture along todays' ride.
So the task is to hold on to some good new habits and act on the realizations and insights gleaned in the Far North.  It is time to start preparing for the next great adventure - which I have dubbed the Escapades of the Ridgway 5!

The Ridgway 5 (a team name picked by someone else) are not a group of 60's radicals in need of a legal defense fund and the services of the infamous radical lawyer Ron Kuby!  But, we are preparing for a grand adventure that will require "True Grit."  We are keeping the adventure under wraps for now but stay tuned .... I am sure the preparations will offer more fodder for this blog and hopefully some photos we all can enjoy.

Looking through a wildlife viewing blind - to infinity and beyond.
